"In the small window that opens, click on "Properties"

Now another window will open and you will see the permalink.

The address (URL) is the permalink

You can now copy the url,  and scroll back to your list, click on edit list and you are ready to edit the list.
It saves clicking on the permalink and waiting for the page to reload to get the permalink.
Its a quick way of getting a lot of permalinks for a list, if you right click to access the permalink you can save them all quickly in a wordpad and then paste them into your list.

Using Spaces. Adding Renaming and Hiding Moduals.

Adding different modules to your live space is very easy. Modules are. the List, profile, blog, ect. that you can see on your space. To add more click on "customize" on top of your space, in the dropdown click on “Add modules” (your space will reload in customize mode)

When the window reloads, a dropdown tab will open under the customize toolbar.

You will have a list of modules that will be quite bewildering to a newcomer.

Clicking on a module name will add it to your space. You can also hide modules from here just by clicking on the module name.

Included in the modules are Gadgets. You can also click on the link to add gadgets from the windows live gallery.

Under "other" you will find html modules, and rss feed’s ect.

Html modules take html code such as space counter’s and animated images ect.

Rss feeds take an rss link from another space or website and will display there latest postings directly on to your space, "Really Simple Syndicate. RSS"

When you have finished adding modules click on "close tab" to close the module tab.

You can now drag your modules around your space and drop them where you want them.

Before you save any changes you can change your module names. Click on the small triangle on your modules to change the name

A small tab will open click on Settings. "You can also hide a module from here".

You can now name the module and save it. Note the other options you can use.

You cannot name "list" modules when you are in this mode. But you can rename your photo album and the other modules.  See my entry "re-naming list"

When you have finished click on save on top your space to save the changes.

When your window reloads you will be back in edit mode with the spanner icons back on your modules.

You can now edit and rename list, add blog’s and photos ect.

A very handy webpage is the windows live translator. Its very good for translating your comments, if you have any in a foriegn language. simply copy the comment and paste it into the translator. and it will translate the comment.  You can then write a comment back and then translate it to there language. and paste it into there comments.
You can also translate a whole webpage. Put the website address into the required field. and it will translate the page. You can add a button to your live toolbar if you wanted for quicker access. "one click translation".

Durch sehen Sie Sie fürs Erste bald   LOL.

Add more photo album modules, latest spaces updates

With the latest spaces updates comes the option of adding more photo albums to your space. You can click on customize then modules and add more photo albums from the dropdown which opens under "modules".
At the moment there are a couple of problems present. See image below of two albums. I added five extra photo modules in total. I have left two on my space to play with. The problems I have had are the photo modules copying each other. and a space unavailable window when trying to edit a album. The problems will probably be fixed soon.

The other updates includes more storage space for skydrive user’s and more.
You can check out all the detail’s on the official live spaces team blog
 The Spacecraft. Click Here

List Descriptions. A way of showing descriptions in list.

Recently list modules when used in the small side columns will not display the descriptions of the list item. The descriptions are still there if you click on the list title. The page reloads with your list in it complete with the description. But it dose not show descriptions on your space. You can still add descriptions if you needed to that will show on your space. Its rather crude but it will give you a viewable description if you needed it.

Just enter the description as another list item "title". Then it will show as the next item but you used it for a description. It will look something like this.

Descriptions still show when the list modules are in larger columns.

If your original descriptions started showing again. you will need to delete the descriptions you added in this way.

You could also

type a description in "with" the title. Then the description will be part of the link. in my case the text would all be blue and there would be no lines seperating the title and description.

Bye for now,… Spence

Using Spaces, Viewing and Editing your Space, Removing, Re-Naming, List

When you first visit your space you will probably be in edit mode already. You can tell by the icon on

the top of your modules. A Small Spanner and you are in edit mode

If you are in viewing mode you will see a small cross on the module. Like when you view other Spaces.

You can click on it and add a list or other modules to your space in this way.

It’s a good way of adding Gadgets you come across on other spaces, to your space

To go back to edit mode click on "Edit this page" link on top of your space when viewing it or "sign in".

So now you are in edit mode and you can see the spanner icon on the modules and the edit link to individually edit the module.

You can add blogs and edit your modules ect but you cannot edit your space or customize it. So simply click on the spanner icon on any module and you will enter a kind of full edit mode "the customize window"and now you can do anything to your space. You can also click on customize at the top of your space and the small customize tab will open.

Clicking on rearrange or hide modules, will do the same as clicking on a spanner in your modules. You click on “exit edit mode” to view your space. Take note of the other options in the tab.

When you clicked on the spanner your space reloaded with a small triangle in place of the spanner.

You will notice also a toolbar has opened with various options.

This is the same options as in the dropdown “customize” tab. Clicking on one of the options in the customize tab will pre-open a dropdown window under the options on the toolbar, or you can click on one of the options on the toolbar to open it.

You can click on the triangle icon in your modules, and a small tab will open with settings and hide in it.

Click on Hide to remove the module. Clicking the settings will open a small window, from here you can choose full width option ect. This will make your module the full width of the column you have it in

If you drag the module to the top or bottom of your space and drop it in the full width feature “Inside the dotted lines”

your module will become the full width of your space.

To rename a list click on the edit link in the list module

You can now edit the list, Click on Edit list information to rename the list.

"Click Here" for more on editing list.

When you have finished all of your editing don’t forget to click on save at the top of your space to save the changes.

Here is a good food guide according to my youngest daughter Lola.

Lola’s first words was not the usual Mum or Dad, no, it was Mc bot bot every time she saw a big yellow M logo. Her favourite day of the year is Halloween. The first song she sang and still a firm favourite was “Food Glorious Food“. So you get the picture,
